WW2 JAPANESE OFFICER'S SIGNED HILT KATANA SWORD & SCABBARD & LETTER OF RETENTION

This is a WW2 Japanese Officer's Katana Sword with its leather scabbard, the hilt is signed on this one but I'm unsure what it translates to, the blade in in overall good condition, the handle is in good condition with the grip covered in sharkskin, and it is tightly wrapped in the traditional manner with brown fabric. Beneath the fabric on each side of the grip are the standard military menuki of three cherry blossoms, with a toned gilt finish. The tsuba guard is a little loose and has some movement but is the solid style with four raised cherry blossoms in relief. The leather scabbard retains brown leather and in great condition. Also comes with its letter of retention to a 6293494 Cpl Johnson in 1946. Age Restricted Item. Proof of age must be provided. U.K. Sales Only.
