DEACTIVATED WW1 WEBLEY .455 MK.VI REVOLVER WITH COMBAT HISTORY (NAMED) (OLD EU DEACTIVATION)

This is a very nice and rare deactivated WW1 Webley .455 Mk.VI Revolver with it being named and its combat history which is very hard to come by, the revolver was deactivated in 2017, so the hammer is able to hold back, and its able to cock and dry fire. This pistol belonged to a A.H. Sayer who was in the 16th R.WAR Reg, who was also a M.C with bar winner, He initially joined as a Pte in 1914 in the 14TH R War, then got promoted in January 1915 to Sec Lt, then joined the 16 R War in November 1915 in France,

Then promoted to Lt in Dec 1915

From November to Febuary 1916 was in Mametz and Arras in Febuary

July in Longueval,

Sept: Capture of Falfemont Farm and Morval

July 1916 he was promoted to Capt

October 1916-March 1917 Sector around Neuve

Chapelle and Festubert

April 1917 He was at Vimy Ridge: round La Coulotte before Arleux

May1917 he was promoted to Adjt

June:Capture of Oppy wood and trenches-holding these trenches till Sept.

He was wounded Aug 21st 1918

Oct 1918 he went on a Senior Officers course in Aldershot and awarded the MC in Jan 1918 and the Bar to M.C. June 1919.
