WW2 GERMAN EM-36 RANGE FINDER
This is a WW2 German Range Finder 36 ( Entfernungsmesser, EM36 ) which was used by the Finnish Army during WW2 and after. This example retains all the German instruction tags, dated 1941. One of the instruction tags is stamped with the Finnish property mark 'SA" ( Sumen Armeija / Finnish Army ). This example has been repainted by the Finnish army including the transit case. The optics are extremely clear and comes with the adjusting lath, which is also SA stamped. The rubber eye pads are in excellent condition soft and supple with the makers fwq. The range finder, rubber pad and adjusting lath are all marked with the manufacturers three letter code 'fwq", which identifies the maker as Saalfelder Apparatebau GmbH. The inside of the transit case retains the original German tan coloured paint finish and also has a Waffenamt stamp on one of the pieces of wood. The transit case is also Waffenamt stamp with the makers which is the same as the Range finder and the adjusting lath.
