U.S. M1 FIXED BALE FRONT SEAMED HELMET

A untouched M1 fixed bale front seamed helmet which was produced between July 1941 to October 1943. The webbing chinstrap has frayed and torn on the buckle side which has a slightly later brass buckle without the raised bar. This pattern buckle was introduced in 1943. The webbing chinstraps and buckle have traces of green camouflage paint. The liner is the third patten liner which has had its paint removed, with traces remaining. The liner is maker marked with the makers emblem the letter "F" within a shield, which identifies the manufacturer as Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. The liner also has a adhesive tape which looks to be a medical plaster on the inside , which the original owner has used as a name tag.
