WW1 U.S. M1917 TUNIC & TROUSERS (NAMED) (78TH DIVISION)

This is a very nice example of a named M1917 tunic and trousers which are both named C.Straub which also has the insignia of the 312th Infantry regiment L Company. The tunic has the rarer variation of the 78th Infantry Divisional badge of four lighting bolt instead of the more common single lighting bolt. The M1917 breeches which are approximately a 34" waist with a 24" leg. The breeches retain their makers label "Fifth Avenue Uniform Co" and dated 12th April 1918. The 78th Infantry Division was formed in August/September 1917 at Camp Dix, New Jersey and demobilised on 26th May 1919. The left sleeve has the rank chevron for a Private First Class ( PFC ) a service strip on each sleeve. The tunic is size stamped 38 and named to C.Straub, It also retains its maker label "Gransrady Co".
