WW2 U.S. M1943 FIELD JACKET
The M1943 field jacket which was part of the M1943 field uniform which consisted of the jacket, separate hood and trousers. The uniform was first evaluated by units of the 3rd Infantry Division in on the Anzio beachhead in the 1943. The M1943 uniform only started to get issued in large quantities in late 1944. This example has had a field repair to the collar and there is a small hole to the left upper sleeve. It retains its printed instructions on the lining which is commonly washed out. The contract label is missing but the outline of the label is clearly visible. This example also has the original owners personal service number stamped into the lining. It also retains its size label 34 small.
