U.S. M1942 FIELD DRESS POUCH & CAMOUGLAGE FIELD DRESSING PACKET
This is a M1942 field dressing pouch which is dated 26/05/1953 and comes with waxed cardboard Camouflage field dressing. The cardboard container for the field dressing was first introduced in 1943 as a war saving measure. Due to the need to save metals for canned food stuffs and lubricated containers. The Waxed cardboard Carlisle field dressing continued to be produced after 1945 and continued to be issued during the Korean and Vietnam wars. This example of the Carlisle field dressing was produced by Burson Knitting Co.
